"Set in Rockay City, a thriving, flamboyant metropolis full of towering skyscrapers and sandy beaches, you take on the role of Travis Baker - a man with his sights set on becoming the new King of Rockay City, one crime at a time." Crime Boss: Rockay City is upping the ante quite a bit though with its selection of A-list acting talent, including the likes of Michael Rooker, Vanilla Ice and Chuck Norris, amongst others. This is looking very Payday-esque we must admit, especially judging by the game's general backdrop and its chaotic co-operative nature. On the back of its grand reveal, the team has released some extended gameplay showing off one of the game's co-op heist sequences. From the charismatic Travis Baker (Michael Madsen) and his team of planners and handlers (Michael Rooker, Kim Basinger, Danny Glover and Damion Poitier), to rival gang bosses (Danny Trejo and Vanilla Ice) and the righteous Sheriff Norris (Chuck Norris): it’s not what you know, but who you know.One of the big surprise reveals at last week's The Game Awards show was the announcement of Crime Boss: Rockay City, an upcoming co-op FPS title from InGame Studios and 505 Games. "Rockay City doesn’t just look and feel like the 90s, you’ll find a few familiar faces there too. Choose your crew based on their skills and expertise, and execute daring missions with the hopes of walking away with the cash, the turf and, ultimately, the crown." This clip is called "Lost Candy", featuring cutscenes along with some mission footage in which the player character ends up dying. From the outset, Crime Boss: Rockay City seemed like an enigma. It's coming to PC first though, and ahead of that release, we're starting to get some new gameplay footage. Crime Boss: Rockay City was one of the games that got quite a lot of attention following its appearance at The Game Awards 2022 last December, and it's already been confirmed for an Xbox (and PS5) release at some point in 2023. ![]()
